Knowing where you are being talked about

Hashtags, tagged posts, search results and the comments under them. Poll it on your own schedule, or take a webhook when a run finishes.

What serves this

Read from the platform registry, so nothing here is a job the API cannot currently do. Each endpoint links to its own reference.

Mentions are not all tagged

The mistake in most brand monitoring setups is watching only the handle. People talk about brands without tagging them, misspell them deliberately to avoid the notification, and put the actual complaint in a comment under somebody else's post rather than in a post of their own.

Covering that properly means four things running together: the hashtag, so you catch the campaign; search, so you catch the spelling you did not think of; tagged posts, so you catch the ones done properly; and the comments under all of them, which is where the substance usually is. Any one of the four on its own gives a picture that looks complete and is not.

Frequency matters more than depth here. A crisis is a thing you find out about in hours, not in a weekly export — which again comes back to cost per pull, and to whether a schedule you can actually afford runs hourly or monthly.

How quickly will I see a mention?
As quickly as you poll. Results are read at the moment you ask, with no cache in between, so the lag is your schedule rather than ours.
Can I watch several brands or terms at once?
Yes. Each is a separate run, billed per result delivered, so watching five terms costs five times watching one and nothing else changes.
Do you alert me?
We post finished runs to your webhook; the alerting rules are yours. What counts as worth waking somebody for is a decision no vendor should be making for you.
