Why per-result and per-request pricing are not comparable
Most providers price in a unit that suits them, and the units are not the same thing. A "request" can return one profile or four hundred comments. A "record" and a "result" can differ by an order of magnitude in how much data each carries. Comparing headline rates without checking what the unit contains is the commonest way of getting this wrong.
The second thing that moves the real number is what happens when a call fails. Charged per request, a run that returns nothing still costs you. Charged per result delivered, it does not — which matters more than the headline rate on any platform where some fraction of targets are private, deleted, or region-locked.
The third is the floor. Several providers on this list have a monthly minimum or a subscription you pay whether you call them or not. At low volume that floor is your actual cost per result, and it can be many times the advertised rate.
